Gear Review: Club Ride Fuze Short and Gunslinger Chamois

The Fuze Bike Short from Club Ride Apparel is a high‑performance mountain bike short with a subdued style that looks great on and off the bike. The fit and finish is fantastic. We tested ours in a size Medium and found it to fit quite well on our 32" waist. Offered at around $96–$120 depending on color and size, the Fuze serves both the serious pedal pusher and weekend rider. With its 12‑inch inseam, stretch‑woven fabric, and removable chamois liner, it’s equally at home shredding singletrack or grabbing a beer post-ride. We'd be perfectly happy taking these shorts on our next bikepacking trip.

Unique features of the Club Ride Fuze Bike Short

High stretch panels and gusseted crotch

Is there anything more obnoxious than having restricted movement while on the bike? These shorts have stretch in all of the right places and will keep your legs spinning. Heck, you might even be able to wear these shorts to your next martial arts class.

Water and dirt resistant

At this point we've all come to expect that our performance garments will have some level of DWR treatment. Club Ride also promotes these shorts as being dirt resistant and I'd have to agree. Our shorts are still looking remarkably clean for the dry and dusty environments that we typically ride in. They are yet to be caked in post-ride dirt.

Internal waistband adjustment

Subtle velcro adjustment tabs inside the waistband help dial in fit at the waist without bulky belts. This is ideal for tailoring your fit especially if you need to layer up OR if you ate way too much food at your mid-ride stop.

Reflective accents

We really appreciate having some reflective accents on these shorts. While we are not commuters any longer we recognize that many who choose to snag a pair of these shorts are, or may be. It's never the wrong choice to make yourself more visible.

What's better than that? How about getting 15% off!

Gunslinger Chamois

The removable Level 2 Gunslinger chamois liner uses mid‑density foam and Coolmax fabric technology to keep things comfortable for longer rides. This is a mid tier option from Club Ride and is aimed at longer rides, but not quite endurance efforts. In our testing we have found that four to five hours is the sweet spot for this chamois though I don't think longer days would pose a problem.

Who is Club Ride Apparel?

Club Ride Apparel is known for blending technical performance and everyday style. They gear mountain bikers who value comfort, durability and looks that suit both trail and town. The Fuze sits at the intersection of their approach—built for technical rides but styled for life beyond the bike.

Final Thoughts

Club Ride Apparel’s Fuze Bike Short with Gunslinger chamois gives you a durable, breathable, trail‑tuned short that doesn’t feel out of place post‑ride. With thoughtful detailing like internal adjustments, water‑resistant fabric, reflective accents and a removable chamois, it hits the sweet spot between functionality and lifestyle. It’s a go‑to piece in Club Ride’s lineup, emphasizing comfort and versatility ride after ride.
